About

Established in 2018, Tee Zee Productions is the only South Asian led BIPOC theater company in Houston. The only company that produces all original content created and presented by Houston’s own BIPOC artists. We explore the stories, values, and culture of underrepresented communities through interactive programs and events. Our theatre presents a chance for communities to come together and experience the unifying values of humanity.

Founder TeeZee Productions

Born in Karachi, Pakistan and raised in Saudi Arabia, Tazeen Zahida writes plays in English and Urdu. Her plays are inspired by current affairs, social issues, family dynamics, and her experiences of living in the Middle East and America.

Through her work, Tazeen intends to bring to life hard-to-tell and harder-to-sell stories. She is a literary translator and critic. She believes that poetry is the ultimate form of expression.

Tazeen has spearheaded this one woman led theatre company to the most prestigious of performing arts stages in Houston. Her work has been commissioned by Performing Arts Hosuton and Asia Society Texas. She has been a grantee of BANF and Doris Duke Foundation. With over 15 original plays under her belt Tazeen believes there is a lot more where these stories came from.
